community. That is…to preserve our business system, promote business
growth and development and plan for the future. |

| How Your Chamber Functions |

The chamber
of commerce functions through a Board of Directors elected from and by the
membership. It consists of 19 directors plus the President. Board members are
elected for 3 years terms. Your Board of Directors forms and administers the
policies of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber is
financed through membership investment. Chamber investment is a tax deductible
business expense. Your chamber receives no tax money and is responsible to the
membership. The investment of each member is based on his stake in the
community and his understanding of the chamber's program.
Members suggest
projects and goals. Those that the board determines are feasible due to
sufficient manpower, finances, and area worth, are set into the yearly Program
of Work. The Board, lead by the Chairman of the Board, appoints committees to
carry out and complete the project assignments. |
